130 delegates attended the first Cannes Lion Festival in 1954. There were only 14 countries and 187 entries.
This year, there are 92 countries, 35,765 entries submitted and about 12,000 people attending.
Alternating between Cannes, Venice and Monte Carlo, Cannes become the permanent home of the Festival in 1984.
Since then, the Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity has become the world’s foremost brand communications conference.
